How I Built a $100K AI Development Agency Solo (Using Twitter/X)

The steps I used to grow fast and land clients without outreach

Hi everyone,

Today I want to share how I built my AI MVP agency IgnytLabs from scratch and scaled it to $100K solo.

I’ve also shared a detailed video on YouTube where I break everything down step by step. You can check it out here.

This isn’t theory. It’s the exact path I followed while working a full-time job and you can use the same steps to grow your own business.

1. Getting started

In September 2024 I decided to turn my skills with AI tools into a real business.

I was still working as a software engineer at KPMG, so time was limited. I needed a way to reach people quickly.

I chose X because it was low effort (just text) and i also heard that how the audience here is really high quality as compared to IG/Tiktok. At first my posts barely got 40 views, but I stayed consistent with 3-4x posts a day.

2. First traction

I began building small projects in public and sharing every step.

One of those projects caught the eye of a founder who paid me $1,000 to build a similar MVP. That was the turning point. I realised there was strong demand if I could help people launch fast.

I focused on:

  • Building MVPs in public

  • Sharing what I learned each day

  • Keeping my offer simple: fast builds at a clear price

Then one of my threads went viral and got 10M+ impressions and within a few weeks I closed 5 clients, all from inbound leads and did my first ever $10K month.

3. Scaling the agency

After those first wins I put simple systems in place:

  • A landing page with clear pricing and a Calendly link

  • Proposals and PRDs so clients knew what to expect

  • Delivery systems that made shipping fast and predictable

By March I had earned more than $92K working with nearly 20 clients. Not one came from cold outreach.

Later that year, a larger company acquired the agency, giving me space to focus on bigger projects.

But things didn’t work out as planned, so I relaunched it as IgnytLabs 2.0 and in August alone we hit $48K in revenue, all from X.

4. What you can take from this

  • Post valuable content daily. A small, relevant audience is better than chasing big numbers.

  • Build in public. Sharing progress and mistakes creates trust.

  • Keep offers clear and simple. Clients decide faster when the scope and price are obvious.

  • Use lightweight systems. Proposals and repeatable delivery make you look professional and save time.

Social media is not about becoming famous. It is about building distribution so the right people see your work.
